Armand blinked slightly at the fervor of Jacinthe's next kiss. It was deeper than before and instinct almost had him pushing her away, and his hand made it to her shoulder to fulfill this act when he stopped himself. It would not do to suddenly shove her away from him when they were both consenting to this. Why should he stop her from kissing him? Was she not about to pleasure him? Armand supposed that he owed her and if this kiss was payment enough, he would allow it to happen. He returned her kiss. The hand resting on her shoulder slowly sliding up her neck before it reached her face, cupping her cheek gently, his thumb lightly tracing the smooth skin as he slowly gave way to his passion. Not completely though, Armand would never abandon his reason and fall into the wills of his body alone.
His cheeks were dusted a light pink as Jacinthe broke away from his lips and positioned herself on her knees before him. Hesitation rose in his chest, he considered stopping her, to prevent the futher damnation of his soul, but he could not find the words to say. Instead he just continued to look down at her, eyes lidded with desire...very well then, he could not completely deny the desires of his flesh and blood, but he was human, despite everything, he was not perfect...no, he had never made that claim and he never would.
He stiffened when he felt those lips trailed across the skin of his lower stomach, the fiery passions within him stirring from the contact and he shifted slightly. Armand had felt pleasure before, yes, but his partners had been meaningless to him and never before had he allowed something of this nature to take place, but though it did matter to him, it was not enough for him to end this and he lifted his hand to let his fingers twirl with a stray lock of Jacinthe's hair.

Rémy wilted and his eyelashes fluttered in dread at the warmth of Uriel's breath in the air, on his skin - and that was even before he had taken in the the words he spoke and their meaning. For Rémy it was as though it was only in the grimacing batting of eyelids that he would escape from the man, for otherwise his eyes were open and taking in Rémy, drinking him up to the very last drop as though Uriel were quite thirsty and there was something in Rémy that quenched that thirst. If he could get rid of that quality in himself, he could...he would like nothing more...But he didn't even know what it was, and the marquis was so demanding...
He tried to answer the question honestly. He had so little knowledge of normal human conversation that he did not realize how gapingly suggestive any conversation he had with Uriel was of something else. "Is it not the dream of every man - and woman - that his work be admired, my lord?" asked Rémy truthfully, though with a voice so soft that it might very well have been a whimper. Certainly his body was taut as a bowstring, pulled away from the man. "And I do," he asserted, although in a tone that implied doubts, "desire that you should take pleasure in my work...in the service I provide you." His eyelashes fluttered again, and he looked up at him hopelessly beneath his blond eyelashes and the lenses of his spectacles. "Do I not please you?"
He didn't know why he said it; he didn't know why his tone sounded so desperate. But he swallowed quite noticeably and moved to adjust his tie again, fingertips nervous and perspiring inside his gloves.

Uriel did what he could not to smile too widely at the man’s discomfort, as if he would expose his true nature and give the game away. And he did so love this marvelous dance betwixt them. “My…accomplice?” He breathed the words gently over Remy’s skin, the smell of cloves still hanging heavily around him. His lips pursed briefly, a delicate motion that belied a thought. Cold crystal eyes pinned Remy, merciless and unblinking. “Would you have it so? That your work could be so…” His lip flexed with a word considered, but not spoken. “…admired?” He finished, pale lashes blinking slowly.
Dance, sweet boy. I want to feel you squirm beneath my fingers, the cruel hand of Fate, your puppeteer. Uriel watched him, needed…something from him. And he had the feeling that Remy would indulge the urge all too eagerly.

Sebastian and Charlotte:
Taurus Man, Aquarius Woman
"An Aquarian is a very special kind of woman, who needs a very special kind of man. Then again, there are those who would say she is a weird kind of woman, who needs a super patient kind of man."... "She leans towards antiques (the Bull leans towards breaking them) and she saves all sorts of nonsense, like he rold Mousketeer cap, her father's shaving cup, the nude picture a friend took of her when she was soaking up the sun one summer. Stop pawing and snorting, the friend was female - and most Uranian-ruled girls are not modest in the company of their own sex, in the woods, when there's no one around."... "This man may enjoy the tradition of the past, and well made furniture, created by craftsmen to last more than three weeks, but he won't go for those fragile, dainty antiques that fall apart when you sit on them. Many a Bull has fallen plumb through an 18th century chair his Aquarian mate has purchased, and I tell you that a Bull, who has fallen through the seat of a chair on his backside - hard - can be quite bearish about the whole matter. He's capable of picking up the offending chair and smashing it into splinters, while smashing her feelings at the same time, by shouting, "KEEP THESE @#%@$^#$^# (expletives deleted) SILLY PIECES OF JUNK OUT OF MY WAY! I WANT A LAZY-BOY RECLINER IN THIS ROOM, IN THIS VERY CORNER BY TOMORROW NIGHT - AND WHEN I COME HOME FROM WORK, IT HARD BETTER BE THERE, EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO CARRY IT HOME FROM THE STORE ON YOUR BACK, WOMAN." (Taurus men are always boss in their homes.)
And what sdoes his Air Sign Aquarian "woman" have to say about her Bull's furious rampage about the chair? She could quite likely ask him, "Listen, Jumbo, what's four-letter word that rhymes with truck?"" (She's working a crossword puzzle in the part of the newspaper he wasn't reading.) In his angry state, he may supply her with a most rude and uncouth, vulgar answer, such as - schmuck. Suddenly, her face will light up, and she'll say, "I've got it! Luck! I have to use an L, because vertically, it has to spell Lixivate, up and down. I was going to use Buck, but the B wouldn't work, going the other direction, where I needed another L for Lithoid. Thanks anyway, but I don't need an s, and besides schmuck has seven letters, and I told you I needed four. By the way, do you know what the word lithoid means? It means: made fo stone, resembling a stone, or a stony structure. That's cute. I think I'll call you that from now on, instead of Jumbo. Lithoid."
He stares at her in silence, at a total loss for words. Then suddenly, without warning, a bolt of Uranus lightning strikes, and she tosses the newspaper in his face, yelling, "Carry your #$%@#$^@$^&@$ chair home on your own back, Lithoid. I'm going on a camping trip tomorrow, by myself - and I'll be gone a week or more. Don't call me, I'll call you if I feel like it, which I probably WON'T!""... "They should both be aware that each of their tempers may explode when least anticipated."... "Her Aquarian inclination to the abstract extends to her sexuality, and since there's nothing whatsoever abstract about the Bull's sexual needs, this can instigate a little insomnia."
Uriel and Ghislain:
Gemini-Scorpio "Scorpios have what can only be called a dominating disposition, ranging all the way from brooding sulkiness to cool withdrawal when things don't go their way. At other times, Scorpio can be gentle, sensitive, compassionate, and fanatically loyal - but never truly warm. Gemini is likewise accused of lack of warmth. As for loyalty, Gemini, as we all know by now, is not famous for loyalty - if the true meaning of the word is unswerving devotion to one person, one idea, or one ideal for a lifetime. Gemini does like to swerve!"... "One might say Gemini represents one mystery Scorpio cannot penetrate, and there is precious little Scorpio cannot penetrate. It's indisputably frustrating to the Scorpion, but frustration is sometimes synonymous with fascination when taken in small does, infrequently."... "Clever, intellectual Gemini is a walking, talking Question Mark (with emphasis on the talking), constantly curious and occasionally spurious. Scorpio is a firm Period, at the end of Knowing..." "In addition to being intensely domineering at times, Scorpio is also intensely proud and ambitious, in a disguised, quiet and unobtrusive way. As a matter of fact, Scorpio is privately intense about everything. Intensely ruthless, intensely loyal, intensely compassionate, intensely cool, intensely secretive, intensely mysterious. These people do nothing in half measures. If they are your friends, they are your friends all the way up to heaven and all the way down to hell. If they are your enemies, the same geographical route of extremities and polarities is followed. If Scorpio does nothing halfway, then Gemini can be said to do everything halfway (or one to three quarters). Geminis never devote all - every shred of themselves - to any single person, idea or project. Only small fragments, chips and pieces, occasional crumbs."... "As Gemini to sit on a particular couch, and he or she will probe your psychological and emotional purposes for choosing that couch, whereas Scorpio will be positive there's a bomb wired beneath it. There's a slight difference in their attitudes, but the end result is much the same. It's impossible to keep a secret from either, or to retain one's personal privacy around them. When it is Gemini and Scorpio who are suspecting, analysing and probing each other, rather than one of the remaining ten, it's like watching a couple of pretzels caught in a Chinese chain-lock puzzle."
Gemini man, Scorpio woman: "There will be a remarkable amount of service and unselfish devotion to duty in the relationship, plus a strong sexual magnetism. The service will usually be offered from Scorpio to Gemini. The sexual vibration is the attraction Gemini has for Scorpio. Yet, oddly, the very last quality the typical Gemini has to offer is sexuality. Sex isn't an all-consuming interest to this man, unless it's accompanied by poetry, experimentation, far-out ideals, or intricate games of mental chess and checkers. He may exude tons of handsomeness, chari, intelligence, and romance, but he does not ordinarily exude excessive sexuality (to anyone but a Scorpio). Therefore, it seems strange that she should find him so physically irresistible - and often, he finds her the same way (although that's not so hard to comprehend.)"... "They'll both try every trick they have tucked in their sleeves, and that's quite a few tricks between the two of them."
Nicolae and Ghislain:
Gemini-Pisces
"Gemini: You realize that whatever you say will be used against you? Pisces: That's okay. It always has. Gemini: Stop feeling sorry for yourself. Do you please guilty or innocence? Speak up. You're always so silent. It's calling pouting, and you do it to annoy me. Pisces: Oh, I plead guilty, of course. Guilty of being human, of possessing human needs and desires...even human failings. Isn't that all right? Gemini: It depends. You have more failings than most people. You have no sense of deductive reasoning. Your mind wanders. Three different times yesterday you ignored me when I told you something I wanted you to do, and you continue to neglect it. You run around listening to everyone's hard-luck stories while your own life falls apart. you're a masochist and a procrastinator. You leave all the important things undone, while you're out chasing bubbles and smelling flowers. Does this make you happy? Pisces: Oh, yes! No one has ever been happier. Please make sure the jury is told, and the judge too, how happy I've been. Gemini: Don't start talking about a judge and jury. This isn't a trial, and you know it. We're just having a discussion. Pisces: I'm sorry...but you sound like a public prosecutor. Gemini: Let's stick to the point. You say you're happy. That's just another of your Neptune lies. You are obviously, at this moment, sad. Clearly depressed. Why aren't you happy right now? Pisces: Because I'm not making anyone else happy...not even you."
Gemini man, Pisces woman "Somehow, during their intimate moments, he becomes more like her - and she becomes more like him. So that, strangely, after their lovemaking, she's more alive, vibrant and aware...he's more subdued and gentle, less restless and seeking."... "She's a beautiful listener, and to him, this is her most endearing quality. Privately, he knows this soft-spoken lady of quiet secrets and subtleties is genuinely interested in everything he has to say - and above all, this is his deepest need. She knows this changeable man of many moods will always need her - and this, above all is her deepest need: to be needed. When he's sarcastic, as Gemini can sometimes be, he breaks her heart."
Remy and Nicolae:
Pisces woman, Pisces man
"The negative Pisces weeds they'll have to prune (perhaps even stomp on) lest they choke and strangle the lovely flowers of their romance are: too much daydreaming, idleness, laziness, confusion, untidiness and chaos, procrastination, fears, phobias, and various forms of neurosis, the temptation to tell fibs - and the odd habit they might drift into of playing doormat to each other."
All from Linda Goodman's Love Signs. I couldn't think of who else to look stuff up with.
Of course, Ghislain and Remy aren't typical of their sun signs in all ways, as Remy is strongly influenced by Virgo, and Ghislain is a right little sexpot, but you know. ^-^
If you want to see any other combinations, I'll look them up for good passages. ^-^

The average gentleman in the street or at any normal shop or business, with another average gentleman, would have felt at unease being this close to another man, and stepped aside; a man like Rémy, who was acutely, intensely sensitive to such things, would have found it agonizing and nearly tripped over his own long legs to get back. But for Rémy to be here with Uriel, it made matters so much worse. For some reason, with Uriel, one was unable to escape him; he seemed forbidding, seemed to know that if you feared such intimacy with him you must have had very sinful things in mind indeed, seemed to know instinctively what to do to worsen things for him. And besides that, Uriel was very hard to escape from even when one tried. In the earliest days of their relationship, Rémy had once quite deliberately tried to get away from him, after noticing that ignoring him did no good. Uriel had smiled at him eerily and stepped closer again, and had touched his lapel and done other horrible things with that breathy voice of his, and Rémy had quite seriously had nightmares about him later. Perhaps Rémy simply came from a superstitious background, but despite his logic and goodwill towards men, he could not reconcile images of Uriel with cloven-hooved devils or other forms of monsters. In dreams of Uriel, the marquis became a white spindly sharp-toothed spider devouring you whole, and Rémy woke in fear. There was no use telling him that the fact that Uriel was creepy and Rémy disliked sewing clothes for him did not equal Uriel's abormality; he had tried telling himself that. Somehow, on some nursery-school level, Rémy didn't believe it.
He felt faint in Uriel's presence, swallowing nervously as Uriel traced his thin fingertips over the images, trailing them corruptingly over the pictures. It seemed like an eternity before he had thought of something, and though Rémy could breathe again, he knew that was probably the easiest part of the arrangement now out of the way; the acutely painful parts would come now, the parts where Rémy had to touch him and Uriel might light a cigarette and blow smoke into Rémy's face, hurting his lungs. But although his face was very pale and his gloved fingers had a tendency to shake, Rémy behaved valiantly and professionally, and tilted his head to look down at the card even though though he felt that he were exposing his neck to a vampire.
And he had to admit that even though he scared Rémy unnaturally, Uriel de Lenormand was exquisite of figure and would indeed look sublime in that jacket. "It would," said the tailor carefully, avoiding looking at him. "I confess it is a cruelty to let yourself loose on Parisian society, my lord - " and didn't he mean it, too, feeling that cruelty strongly himself - "particularly dressed as such. I feel rather badly for assisting in it." He traced his own fingers over the jacket without realizing he did so, unconsciously mirroring what Uriel had done. "Is there someone you particularly desire - " for a moment he could not think of the words, and therefore for a moment that was all that he had said, and it made a complete phrase in and of itself, without Rémy's realizing that it did - "to impress?" he finished at last, lamely. Impress did not seem the suitable word for Uriel at all, but Rémy had done what he could.

But of course I am. Uriel managed to avoid the smile that Remy’s anxiousness provoked in him, his cold eyes lingering on the tailor for a moment too long before dropping to the pages presented. White fingers sought them out, tracing their fine lines and small details, as if Uriel were absorbing them through his skin, taking them. Claiming them as he did everything else. He made no effort to rush the selection, though the two men’s bodies were what some might consider uncomfortably close.
“Mmmm…” A soft breath escaped him and he pursed his lips, making it appear that he was trying to force it back inside briefly. “This…” He drew his fingertip over a particularly modern, yet elegant jacket. “Would this not suit me sublimely?” His eyes rose to Remy, hungry. The hint of the same smile danced in the corners of his lips.
((Uriel can hardly be blamed for what I put him through. I am very sorry for the prolonged wait.))

Several days later -
Nicolae sleeps in so late. I will have to think of something particularly naughty with which to wake him up. Whether this means I will have to drip cold water onto his bare chest or slip under the sheets and drag him out of sleep, hardly awake enough to protest but certainly awake enough to encourage, I don't know, but I'm sure either way shall give me great pleasure.
A few minutes later -
It was the latter. Poor sheepish thing is making us tea now. What a good boy.

Ugh, the damned opera. I hate it. And also, it is wet and cold outside. I have to admit that I might possibly like the winter better than almost any other time of year, except of course the late spring when it is my birthday and I am lying about how old I've become ("Seventeen, sir," with a bat of the eyelashes and the delicate way I have of leaning onto the countertop of the bar and standing with a wide distance between my legs, the one Carlos thinks is so damned amusing), but still it is wet and cold and for some reason it is really not agreeing with me.
Worse still, tomorrow is Valentine's day. Imagining the way the performers will be singing bits and pieces from the opera to one another all throughout the evening will be ridiculous. I know a violist who fancies himself quite the ladykiller (I should show him someday) and has been singing to the dancers all afternoon. I think that he should just cut out the ridiculous part and get to the point: Sweet thing, why don't you show me how far you spread the legs when you do that marvellous jété of yours? It's not as though they don't know what he's really saying. Some men really don't give women enough credit. I would have visited Selene, to whom I give a great deal of credit and from whom I receive lots more, but I can't, I'm trying to conserve energy. This is very tiring on the whole.
Later the same night -
I shall be so tired tomorrow, but even though sweet Selene was not in, Ahmed and his lot were and they expressed sympathy for my plight.
Note to self: don't ever lace up Marzipan's stays for him ever again.

Selene is such a darling. I took my violin out with me and played some rowdy tunes for a few dancers and then when I went back to her place with her and Jubilé I practiced some of the more hideously Wagneresque parts until she finally told me to shut up. And even after this grotesque breach of amity on my part, she and Jubilé absolutely covered me with kisses. That is true friendship. I am so undeserving of it, but there it is.

Nicolas is certainly the better violinist than me, I know he knows that, what is wrong with him? He puts up with an enormous amount of shit, though, the poor overwhelmed thing. I called him several names today, none of them his own - Aimé, Théophile, Georges - and after rehearsal, in that soft delicate pained voice of his he asked me what in the world was wrong with the name Nicolas.
And I hate to admit this because it's so childish and he is never going to look me in the eye again without blushing and stammering and cringing, but my immediate response was to shove him back against the wall and move up very close and say into his face with a bright feral smile, "It makes me want to marry you."
I could have said worse - much worse, for I know many sordid verbs - but nonetheless, as I let him go calmly and strutted away, I felt as though I couldn't have done so. It's not as though I know anyone else named Nicolaes.

You want Jacinthe, you silly fool? thought Ghislain jovially, his shoulders near-collapsing in a perfect burlesque of an innocent girl's relief, smiling shyly up at Armand, although Armand could probably not have guessed that what on Jacinthe could be perceived as shyness was faint triumph from Ghislain. I wish she existed for me to give. But he could give him something like her. And without having planned to, Ghislain leaned forward into Armand, his hands on his waistband briefly holding him at the small of the back, and kissed him quite deeply. This surprised even him, the steady affectation of longing and the faint breath of passion. He found it peculiar that his mind again went back to Nicolae. How perfectly odd. Well, the comment had been enough like Nicolae in the end, enough to make anyone think of that absurd painter of flowers and dancing girls, the way he dutifully painted the highlights on a girl's cheekbone but equally dutifully painted the expression in her eyes, as though the soul for him were fused with the flesh, rather than Ghislain's commonly-stated creed that the flesh was the closest to the soul you'd ever get. Thinking of Nicolae got Ghislain a little bit carried away, but when he broke back softly and slipped to his knees with a rustling of skirts, taking Armand's hand and kissing it as he did so (he was deciding that this demure act had its pleasures, though, and he was going to have to try it with the Romanian later), he decided that was all for best. Armand wouldn't be complaining, anyway. At least not once his lips reached their destination... And as Ghislain moved his hands again to his trouser buttons, and his fingers moved rather slowly and purposefully to undo them, and he leaned forward to brush his lips against his lower stomach, he hid an extremely sly smile from the Catholic boy's view...

Re: Impress Me « Result #18 on Mar 19, 2008, 10:24pm »
Claire listened to his story, absently taking sips of her tea. His mother taught him and he flourished. His father did not approve, but accepted it. If only things had been so easy for her. She was beginning to think that this boy had yet to experience any true hardships. In fact, she wouldn't be surprised if this meeting with her was the toughest thing he had dealt with thus far when it came to people. She frowned slightly. If it had merely been an issue of her father accepting that she did not want to marry Alaricus...how would she have turned out? Would she be more like Ken'ichi or had she been doomed to behave this way from the moment she took her first breath in this world?
No, that was nonsense for she had not always been like this. There had been a time, long ago, when she had been happy and kind hearted. There had been a time where no one would dare call her cold because she was so very warm. It was a time long lost and she hardly doubted that anything could change her now. Claire would remain this way until the end of her days. Even if she did manage to escape Alaricus one day, this had been her life for too long and she would never recover completely, she would never trust again.
"That sounds nice," Claire said. "Your family is certainly far more understanding then my own in any case." That was all she was saying, she refused to explain anything to him because it was not for him to know. She was suddenly feeling very uncomfortable. Ken'ichi was the total opposite of her existence, the life she might have had if fate had not been so unkind. She was suddenly finding it hard to be in his presence, as nonthreatening as he was.
"I'm sorry," she said. "I do not mean to rush you, but I have a feeling the longer we linger the more of a chance Alaricus will return and I would not put you through another meeting with him if it could be avoided."
Re: Impress Me « Result #19 on Feb 26, 2008, 8:51pm »
Ken'ichi smiled lightly and rubbed at the back of his neck. "I apologize for that," he said. "You are not the first person to have expressed such an opinion." Which was very, very true. He supposed growing up around actors and the like had helped to form her personality. He had become very close with the people he worked with and they were anything but quiet and since he spent most of his time with them it was a trait that never really wore off no matter who he was speaking with. His smile brightened when she said she appreciated his honesty and decided he would work on the whole 'overwhelming' bit and hopefully things would improve between them.
He considered her question for a bit. He had no problem with her asking about himself as he had no desire to keep anything about his past hidden. There was nothing to really hide, besides, he wanted people here to get to know him. It was a goal of his to spread his name around Paris and then maybe he'd get some recognition here and could complete his dream of adding the fashion he was used to to the more somber colors he had seen thus far.
"Well, to be honest it was because of my mother," Ken'ichi replied. "When I was a child, my father was involved in a war and my mother was so worried that she took her mind off of things by sewing. She felt lonely so she kept me by her side and we both discovered that I had a natural talent to the business and so she helped me along. She was the stepping stone, really, I probably never would have gotten into costume designing if she hadn't taken me under her wing."
He paused and smiled a bit. "Of course my father, being a war veteran, was not quite as pleased as she was about where I was focusing my energy, but he either came around or simply accepted that this was what I was going to do and stopped questioning me about it. I've been doing it ever since."
